Prayer, Submission, and Discipleship (Jam 4:7)

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. (James 4:7-8 KJV)

The Apostle James of the Epistle of James wrote his epistle as the presiding overseer in the church of Jerusalem. Beside the norm of sect Judaic Jews and Romans, often the primary adversaries of the growing believers in Christianity. We too in modern times have indifferences of beliefs and persecutions amongst ourselves and with others. These popular scriptures were a commission unto the believers to be steadfast from the rebellion, false doctrines, persuasions, and oppressions that availed. There were overly rich people who oppressed the poor, leaders who treated others evil, inspired by evil influences, people yielding to mysticism, and many whose worship treated God with contempt (how the clergy was between God and people.) Where darkness avails spiritually and or literally Submit to God. What does this mean? Becoming consistent in the congregation. Seeking Godly wisdom and not our own. Cohering to the weekly sermons. Consistent in bible study and or prayer. Fervent in the following of Christ – to sanctification our body, hearts, and minds into the Kingdom of God. Wherever you are God can help you and pull you away from all forms of ungodliness. Like the prodigal sons Father he can see you coming, even in your heart, run, and meet you half way. (Lk 15:20) May Christ prepare you for God in service tommorow and or this week.

May God richly bless you in the blessings of our glorious Father through Christ.

“But ask the Lord Jesus Christ to help you live as you should, and don’t make plans to enjoy evil.”
(Romans 13:14 – TLB)
